Incredible Years: Teacher Programme

Ngā Hau e Whā runs Incredible Years® Teacher (IYT) programmes for teachers within our cluster area. We've been running programmes for over a decade, and in that time we've trained over 350 teachers in IYT practices.

The Incredible Years Teacher programmes are designed specifically for teachers across Aotearoa/New Zealand. They are tailored to meet the needs of different age groups and developmental stages. The programmes are led by skilled, accredited group leaders in Ngā Hau e Whā RTLB Cluster 28 who are passionate about the IYT philosophy. 

Our aim is to equip educators with practical tools and strategies to create positive classroom environments. Teachers can help build children’s resilience, enhance their social and emotional skills, and boost their academic success by participating. Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of our mokopuna.

The programme runs via six workshops across two terms, and there are coaching sessions between most workshops. We use an Incredible Years framework, and through professional conversation draw on the expertise and experiences of participants.
