Welcome to the Ngā Hau e Whā Resource Teacher: Learning and Behaviour (RTLB) Cluster 28. Our team of specialist teachers work alongside kaiako (teachers) in the 108 state and state-integrated schools within the Wellington, Tawa and Porirua regions to support the learning and well-being of mokopuna/students.
We work with schools and kaiako to identify how we can enable mokopuna/students to flourish. Support is based on what best meets the needs of the mokopuna/student, whānau, and their kaiako. We also work with other learning support services, and incorporate Te Tiriti o Waitangi into our work.

Ngā Hau e Whā represents the four winds of Tawhirimatea (Atua of the Winds): Te Hau Tonga (South Wind), Te Hau Raki (North Wind), Te Hau Rāwhiti (East Wind) and Te Hau-a-Uru (West Wind). Each of these winds is represented in our logo.
Ngā Hau e Whā—the four winds— symbolises inclusivity and diversity, reflecting a holistic approach that embraces learners from all cultural identities, backgrounds, and experiences. It conveys the idea that education is for everyone, regardless of who they are or where they come from.

Stepping in to support our RTLB service was a way for me to enact my personal educational perspective with a wide focus on educational equity.
This position exists to support our Cluster Manager to drive ongoing cycles of growth and provide a valuable schools perspective.
For any issues, please speak with the people directly involved first, then their practice leader and finally with Lianne directly. I am happy to become involved after that.

Our team strives to work in partnership with our kura, kaiako and whānau; weaving together the support of other agencies when necessary to achieve better outcomes for mokopuna.
Support includes system wide, targeted or individual support so that mokopuna with learning support needs are welcome and where their achievement, progress, wellbeing and participation is valued.
